Solutions Overview
Vertigo has completed many successful “design and build” projects for the OOH and Retail industries, focusing on the integration of appropriate technologies for outdoor and indoor media signage solutions. Our core competency is the design and definition of manufactured assemblies capable of supporting and protecting intricate and innovative technical display systems for deployment in hostile environments. A few of these developments are listed below to illustrate the scope and breadth of our experience.
Project: Scope: | Miami Beach Street Furniture Design Program Vertigo worked in collaboration with the project architect, Laurinda Spear and Architectonica of Miami USA, to translate conceptual and visual aesthetic designs into a range of manufactured product assemblies for volume production and installation in the historical Art Deco District of South Beach. The development involved delicate negotiation with local officials, sympathetic detailing and careful material selection to ensure compatibility with the surroundings, also innovative manufacturing process utilization to ensure compliance with South Florida [Hurricane] building and material codes whilst staying true to the original essence of the designs. The resulting “Origami” modular system of transit shelters and associated advertising furniture was fully defined, detailed and documented by Vertigo, the production of which was managed through Chinese based manufacturing facilities in Jiamen. The sculpted stainless steel and glass illuminated directories and street signage, situated in the fashionable Lincoln Road shopping district, were also detail designed and fully manufactured by Vertigo Group as a part of this scheme. |
Project: Scope: | Ivanhoe Cambridge Mall Properties Advertising Directories Vertigo Group designed, built and delivered a range of 6’x 4’ illuminated display equipment for Canada’s largest OOH Media company; installed across the country, the multi-million dollar 2 year supply contract included 5 product variants in 3 finished colour schemes, for shopping mall advertising both indoor and outdoor. In addition a range of portrait format digital advertising displays in 46” and 65” utilising Plasma and LCD panels was launched in 2007 at Yorkdale Mall in Toronto, and is planned for expansion across the Pattison network. |
Project: Scope: | New York City Transit Shelter Advertising Structures Working from schematic outlines and visual representations created by Grimshaw Architects, the detail technical design and realization of illuminated advertising panels, structurally integral to the transit shelter assembly installed across the 5 boroughs of New York City; this was the flagship element of the product range upon which Cemusa won the largest Street Furniture contract in the world at that time. Vertigo beat stiff competition to secure this manufacturing contract, and delivered prototypes in less than 10 weeks followed by 675 units within a 12 month timeframe. |
Project: Scope: | Irvine Company, City of Irvine, Orange County, California USA Advertising furniture for outdoor deployment in extremely high end properties in southern California, USA; each of these 3 “ lifestyle mall “ properties had its own identity and style which needed to be reflected in the equipment design. A range of decorative materials was integrated into the finish including local Cantera Stone, cherry wood framing and custom pastel shade powder coatings. |
